Class Introduction

The Excellent Chinese course series is based on the theory and research of pedagogy and teaching psychology for children and adolescents. Youshi Chinese textbook series is divided into infant edition and primary school edition. The design ideas are scientific and rigorous, and the writing concepts are novel and fashionable. Based on the language learning and psychological characteristics of Chinese students at each stage, we select topics close to life, add real language materials, and integrate Chinese culture and Chinese elements, so that students can extensively explore literature, history, geography, science, art and other fields while learning the language. Volumes 5, 6, 7 and 8 of Youshi Chinese Primary School Edition are designed according to the physical and mental development characteristics of children aged 9-10. Each lesson has a "topic" and focuses on cultivating and training students' reading skills on the basis of consolidating listening and speaking skills. , the reading material is based on the continuation of daily life and Chinese culture, and adds content from world culture, science, history, geography and other fields to help students improve their understanding and emotions of Chinese culture while learning Chinese knowledge, and Further broaden your horizons and horizons, and look at the world. In addition, the teaching materials at this stage also include a training module for applied essay writing, which consciously trains students' written writing skills in the process of improving reading.


The fifth volume of the primary school edition textbook has 15 lessons in total, and each lesson is equipped with eight teaching modules and practice sections:

"Warm-up text" carefully selects content topics, adds real corpus, and enables rapid reading and comprehension of small and medium-sized texts;

"Intensive Reading Text" connects the theme of the "Warm-up Text" of this lesson, increases the length and difficulty, and provides in-depth reading comprehension;

"I can recognize", set up reading characters and stroke learning;

In the "Practice" section, each lesson is equipped with a number of classroom and after-class exercises. Hello everyone, my name is Lily wei, you can call me teacher lily, I am Chinese, but now I live in Canada, I have been teaching Chinese courses at Youshi International Chinese School for more than 7 years. I like doing gals, playing the piano, reading, watching movies, traveling, and meeting new people.

I'd love to help you learn Chinese, I'm a language learner myself and have been reading in English, so I know what it's like to be in your position. My goal is to make "classroom" fun for you or your child and help you speak, listen, write and read Chinese with ease. The youngest student I have taught is 4 years old and the oldest is 60 years old. I can say that I have taught students of all ages.


I have 8 years of university teaching experience and 13 years of overseas Chinese teaching experience. I started teaching Chinese students of all levels in Canada in 2011. Mainly for children, so I have the ability to be competent for various types of Chinese teaching.

In the classroom, I like to teach through drawing, acting, gestures or language games. The children enjoy the fun classroom atmosphere I bring to them. The students I have taught say that my classroom is very interesting and they have many opportunities Speak Chinese.


I like to communicate with students in Chinese as much as possible, and use the situation to encourage students to speak Chinese. If the students can't understand, I will use simpler sentences and slower speed.
